For the word of God is quick, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12, KJV)
The word of God, spoken in faith in the name of Jesus, has awesome power to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It is important to hide His word in our hearts for personal edification and also declare it (through speaking out) over the different situations of life.
We are living in a world with several ideologies and viewpoints trying to influence and control our lives. So many people are fearful of the present and uncertain about the future, especially in the age of relative truths where people are taught that there are no longer absolute truths. Instead, people are encouraged to believe whatever suits them as long as it satisfies their longings, passions, selfish interests and, in some cases, ‘possibly causes no direct harm to others’. However, we take the stand that the word of God provides absolute truths about His promises, precepts and the basis for moral standards. Indeed, the word of God is settled in Heaven (Psalm 119:89) and does not need approval or validation by human authorities or institutions.
In this month where our collective focus is on Power in the Word, we shall find out what God’s word says about your situation, believe it and declare it. And because God’s Word cannot return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), we will see what we believe and confess come to pass!
