Introduction Christians are involved in a tremendous conflict that spans the whole universe, from heaven to earth. The battle is between God and the forces of good on the one hand, and Satan and the forces of evil on the other. The devil is an archangel who, because of pride, led his angels in rebellion against God and set up a rival kingdom.
The Scriptures picture him as a dragon, a serpent, a murderer, a liar and a thief. Satan opposes God, God’s purposes, and God’s people, and in his opposition to us he has three objectives: to steal, to kill and to destroy. Fortunately, the good news of the gospel is that through Jesus’ death on the cross; He defeated Satan by shedding His blood as propitiation for our sins and through this blood, He gave us victory.
The Blood of Jesus Cleanses from Sin: The blood of Jesus enables us to stand before God as if sin had never existed. We have no other plea for entrance into God’s presence but the precious Blood of the Lamb. Hebrews 9:22; 1 John 1:9; Hebrews 10:19
Life In The Blood: Blood delivers everything necessary for the life of the members of a human body and carries away waste material. Jesus’ blood also brings life and nourishment to the members of His body, and rids us of everything that is of the curse. Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:14
Redeemed By His Blood: 1 Peter 1:18-19; Colossians 1:13-14; Psalm 107:2
The Blood Speaks: The Blood testifies that Jesus set us free from the entire curse and made us able to partake of the inheritance of the saints. The Blood testifies that Jesus bought our redemption from the devil and set us free. God worked when the blood of Abel cried unto Him how much more mightily He will work when it is the blood of His own Son that cries. By speaking words of faith, we agree with what the Blood says concerning our total and absolute redemption and freedom from the curse. Hebrews 12:24; 1 John 5:8
Sprinkle The Blood: By faith we can sprinkle the blood of Jesus on people who have come to us for help. The Blood is a token of Christ’s total redemption, signalling the devil that he must flee. By faith in that precious Blood all can be healed. Blood in the human body brings healing to sickly tissue. So the Blood of Jesus brings healing to His body as well. Sprinkle the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ anywhere there is evidence of satanic effort to stop the complete will of God in your life. With blood on the door of the Israelites in Egypt no evil dared enter their dwellings. Likewise, we are kept safe through the protection of the precious Blood of Jesus. 1 Peter 1:2
The blood of Jesus has made provision for redemption, forgiveness, cleansing, justification, sanctification and intercession on our behalf. By testifying personally to what the Word of God says about Jesus’ blood, we can apply these provisions to our lives and we are enabled to live in the victory Christ accomplished long ago on the cross.
