Whoever therefore breaks (consistently) one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches (encourages) them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:19).
God invites everyone to be great in his kingdom; it is therefore not an offence (but rather appropriate) for a person to have the desire for greatness because the great God has designed the spirit of man with this longing. However, greatness has to be sought the right way, as thought by the Lord Jesus, instead of the ungodly and sometimes wicked techniques that the world may adopt. God’s way can be summed up as being the approach that is based upon obedience to his will, and the development of godly character. Adding God’s help to a life of obedience leads to greatness guaranteed!
One way through which God helps his obedient children on the path of exceeding greatness is by the anointing with his Holy Spirit (Fresh Oil). The anointing consecrates, uplifts, and gives supernatural strength to a believer to achieve extraordinary feats. In this regard, we must be reminded that every challenge in life also presents an opportunity to do special things. In fact, every innovation comes as solution to a problem. As we thank and celebrate the faithfulness of the Lord to Living Water Parish over the last eleven (11) years, we today set our hearts (and look up to the Lord) for more! May we, through Him that strengthens us, receive a fresh anointing to achieve great things for the benefit of mankind and the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
