Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me, to give to each one according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and
the end. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree
of life and may enter the city by its gates (Revelation 22:12-14)
Welcome to the last month of 2019. It is usual at this point in time when we approach the end of the year to say “how time flies.” We are so grateful to the Lord who has kept us from
all harm and led us through the year. We will capture and reflect our immense gratitude through today’s thanksgiving service. Our theme for December is Alpha and Omega, and it recognises that it is the Lord who has been with us from the beginning of the year and He will complete it with us in joy and victory.
Jehovah’s title of Alpha and Omega points us to the notions of the starting (beginning) and ending (finishing point) of matters. It is good to begin and finish projects to required standards and within stated deadlines. Similarly, we can rejoice in knowing that there is an end to the sicknesses and challenges that we are facing at this time. Importantly, our lead Bible verses draw attention to that great day, at the end of the present dispensation, when all will see the wisdom and happiness of the friends of Christ, and the madness and misery of his enemies. Let us think frequently upon the second coming of our Lord Jesus. He shall come to the astonishment of the whole world of the ungodly. He is the Beginning and the End; all things are from him and for him; he is the Almighty. Glory to His holy name.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Parishioners.
